AhlulBayt News Agency: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Palestinians in Gaza, emphasizing that the Palestinian cause remains a fundamental priority for the Islamic world.
Speaking at the 34th Arab League Summit, which convened on Saturday in Baghdad, Taha urged OIC member states to take decisive action to halt what he described as a genocidal war against Palestinians. He underscored the deep-rooted ties between Arab nations and the OIC, highlighting their shared responsibility in addressing the crisis.
According to Mehr, Taha reaffirmed that the Palestinian issue is central to the organization’s agenda and stressed the urgent need for collective efforts to defend Palestinian rights. He called for an enhanced strategic partnership between the OIC and the Arab League to strengthen diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives aimed at ending the suffering in Gaza.
His remarks come amid intensifying regional and international calls for an immediate ceasefire and increased support for Palestinians facing displacement and severe humanitarian conditions.
